Jairelbhi & George Furlong

Born into an Argentinean family, Tango has been a part of George’s life since early childhood. Thanks to a highly musical upbringing, he began his formal music training at the age of 10 and continued through high school and college.

A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Jairelbhi began her dance training at age 9, joining Las Voces Blancas, one of the top children’s dance schools in the country. Her graceful movement and dedication earned her a place in the school’s performance troupe, leading to television appearances and frequent travel.

Recognized for their musicality and artistry, George and Jairelbhi Furlong have performed and taught in cities across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Russia, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

They have shared the stage with renowned ensembles such as the Fort Worth Symphony, Dallas Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Lisandro Adrover’s Quinteto, Opus Cuatro, and celebrated bandoneonists Horacio Romo and Daniel Binelli.

From 2011 to 2016, they were featured cast members in This is Tango Now, created by Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo. During this time, they toured the U.S. and China with Identidad and Carmen de Buenos Aires. They also appeared in acclaimed productions such as María de Buenos Aires with both the San Antonio Opera and Fort Worth Opera.

In addition to performing, George and Jairelbhi have participated in numerous festivals across the U.S. They have been actively involved in organizing the San Antonio Tango Festival 2022, and have been welcome guest instructors at past Tucson Tango Festivals.
