Carrie Field fell in love with tango in 2004. After much study and many trips to Buenos Aires she noticed a missing educational experience for tango dancers and created Tango Inform in order to fill this void.
Tango Inform is a collection of exercises designed specifically to prepare the body and enhance performance for dancing tango. The exercises of Tango Inform approach the body from four different areas of training: stretch, strength, release, and motor patterning. The individual exercises included in the approach have roots in varied movement modalities such as yoga, Pilates, Gyrotonic©, and Bartenieff Fundamentals. Kinesthetic and anatomical concepts are explained in friendly language to help students understand movement patterns and theories that can help their dance. The object of Tango Inform is to assist dancers in improving ease of movement, grace and physical confidence while dancing tango.
Carrie has a B.A in dance and a masters in occupational therapy. She is certified in Pilates, yoga, Gyrotonic©, and has more than 20 years’ experience teaching these movement modalities. She feels privileged to have taught Tango Inform at festivals in the Southwestern U.S. since 2016.
