Main Gate Square
Main Gate Square is the cafe, restaurant and shopping area for the University of Arizona. The Marriott is about 1/8 mile from the Main Gate entrance into the university and in the heart of Main Gate Square.
While 4th Ave actually goes all the way through Tucson, when a Tucsonan says, “Let’s meet on 4th Ave,” he or she is referring to a mile stretch of restaurants, shops, bars and lounges that are very much out of the ordinary. No chain stores here, but there’s an old Dairy Queen. The north end of 4th Ave starts at University Blvd, just a half mile from the Marriott. Or just jump on the street car right outside the hotel on University Blvd.
